Starting in 2006 at Pine Manor College, the Solstice Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing Program has reached its latest milestone at Lasell University. July will mark two decades of writing community!

Once, a group of writers with years of experience teaching writing at the graduate level banded together to create a master of fine arts in creative writing program. They envisioned a space that prioritized community over competition, offered need-based scholarships, and always strove to expand what it means to nurture new generations of writers.

Our Founding Director Meg Kearney has helmed the program since the beginning. With her leadership in collaboration with three successive assistant/associate directors, a host of award-winning faculty and writers-in-residence, and cohort after cohort of students who joined our alumni, we remain proud of what we have fostered at Solstice over these past 20 years.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we reflect on the fellowship, academic excellence, and more that brought us to this momentous occasion.
