Bucks County Sheriff Danny Ceisler visited the Newtown Campus yesterday to speak about his career in the military, law and politics, and the role of the sheriff’s office and the training required.

“Leadership is such an extraordinary responsibility,” Sheriff Ceisler told the criminal justice and sociology students. He shared the attributes required for a career in law enforcement: confidence, hard work, and pride in one’s work.

A full house welcomed poet Grant Clauser to Tyler Hall last Thursday for the second Wordsmiths Reading Series event this fall. Professor Ethel Rackin introduced Grant before the 2010 Montgomery County Poet Laureate read his latest poems, including an ode to Mischief Night called “Confession.” Grant took time to chat with students and faculty afterward, including School of Language and Literature Dean Samantha Gross, Rackin, and Honors Program Director Katie Quanz. Earlier that morning, Grant also connected with students in the Bucks Honors Program in Cooper Homestead.

Students, faculty and staff had a chance to hear from experienced professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech and innovative technology companies during an engaging STEM Career Panel yesterday. STEM Dean Lisa Burgess led the discussion featuring Brad Stein, former senior level IT manager at Pfizer, Theodore Able, CEO of Novaskai, an AI consulting Firm, and Nick Spring, VP of Strategy and Development, PA Biotech. Bucks County Community College welcomed Penn State Abington yesterday for a Takeover Day! Bucks students had the opportunity to connect with PSU representatives and get their transfer questions answered. Bucks Professor Matthew Metcalf’s U.S. History: Young America honors class welcomed guest professor Dr. Friedrieke Baer from PSU Abington in the historic Tyler Hall Pub. Thank you Penn State Abington for connecting with our student as they explore transfer possibilities.🩵🤍💙

Prospective students and their families experienced a taste of the Culinary Arts program at Bucks during the Culinary & Hospitality Open House last night. Students met with chef-instructors, sampled cuisine, and learned about our Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts degrees and certificates. 🧑‍🍳

At Bucks, students can explore culinary and hospitality careers through our connection with The Logan Inn in New Hope. The Logan Inn’s Executive Chef Jeff Marino, who joined us last night, provides real-world application in a local hotel, restaurant, and event space, giving students industry knowledge and access to fulfilling careers in hospitality.

Bucks County Community College's Cooperative Education and Career Services hosted the Healthcare Career Fair earlier this week at the Bucks County Community College - Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks. Students had the opportunity to connect with participating employers, including area hospitals, long-term care facilities and home health care.
