Do you currently own a business and want to understand more about marketing your business? Do you want to incorporate your business, but don’t really understand what the process is all about? The Niagara Falls Entrepreneurial Training Program has the answers to all of your questions!!! The Department of Economic Development of the City of Niagara Falls, in collaboration with the D’Youville College
Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team are providing a free entrepreneurial training program to city residents. The Entrepreneurial Training Program is composed of 10 weekly sessions of 2.5 hours, to be held at the Niagara Falls Earl Brydges Public Library, located at 1425 Main Street. Classes start on Wednesday September 26th, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. The first session, on September 26th 2012 will be held at City Hall, located at 745 Main Street. The Entrepreneurial Training Program is designed with current and future entrepreneurs in mind, who are interested in improving productivity, while enhancing knowledge of business principles such as management, accounting, business law, marketing and sales. The training sessions will feature business owners, lawyers, bankers and accountants from the area. The City of Niagara Falls and D’Youville College see this program as an excellent opportunity to meet the needs of the community of Niagara Falls. By investing in our community, business owners will expand their chances of success and opportunities to contribute to the economic development of the City of Niagara Falls and Western New York. Participants who complete the program will receive an official certificate of completion from the City of Niagara Falls. By participating in the program, graduates are able to apply for grants up to $10,000 or low-interest loans up to $25,000 through the city’s Micro-Enterprise Program. In addition to gaining valuable business knowledge and having the opportunity to apply for funding, what else is in it for you? How about the exposure to prominent business people from our local community? The ability to network with accountants, bankers, lawyers, and government employees? And what about the opportunity to expose your business to your first potential customers? The Entrepreneurial Training Program will also allow interested participants to showcase their business ideas, as the program will culminate with a business plan competition. Participants who are interested in competing will be allowed to present their business idea, along with their marketing strategy, budgeting, business structure, and financial projections. This is called your BUSINESS PLAN! This means that not only will you have fun and potentially win a prize, but you’re actually half way there with the document you will be presenting to investors and financial institutions! I call this win-win! Classes are starting soon, so make sure you secure your spot, as admission is limited.
