Dear Crowder AEL and ESL students,
Out of an abundance of caution, AEL and ESL will be following the protocol that Crowder College has put in place, effective immediately.
On Monday, March 16th students are not to show up to regularly scheduled classes. Instructors will spend the day putting online and alternative methods in place. Instructors will contact each student and make appts, to pick up individual learning plans, one student a time. We are going to be very creative to teach in ways that follow protocol but so that you will get the support you need to learn. It will be different but it is a short-term solution until April 6th.
Again, this is NOT a closure. We will temporarily move instruction from in-person to online or through alternative methods.
Kindly
Juli DeNisco
Crowder College AEL Director

Dear Crowder College Students,
As the national coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) continues to progress, the health and safety of our Crowder College faculty, staff, and students remain our highest priority. While no members of the college community have been diagnosed with COVID-19, it is of paramount importance to us to be proactive rather than reactive in regards to our action. With this in mind, based on the recommendation from the Executive Council and approval from the Board of Trustees, we are suspending in-person classes effective immediately and will move to an all-online or other alternative method of course delivery starting Monday, March 16th and continuing through April 5, 2020.
This is not a closure; college operations will continue. Residence halls and dining services will remain open for use. To address accommodations for students that have limited access to technology, campus computer labs will remain open for use. Crowder College Athletics will follow the guidelines of the NJCAA. Large-scale events scheduled for the campus may be postponed or cancelled.
This move will create many challenges for us all. The coming weeks will require a great deal of flexibility and understanding as we all work through this together. Please continue to practice preventive measures to protect yourself and others from the virus.
At this time the goal of the college is to return to in-person classes on Monday, April 6, 2020. We will continue to reassess the situation and determine before April 6 whether we will return to in-person classes. We will communicate that decision as the date draws closer. At any time, please refer to the Crowder College Webpage www.crowder.edu/COVID-19 for information and updates associated with COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Dr. Glenn Coltharp
Crowder College President
