We as The Interfraternity Council would like to join the Student Government Association and several other members of the Administration to express our disappointment in a negative story that will be airing tonight on WTKR NewsChannel 3. We support ODU and the stereotypes that are portrayed in this news story are inaccurate. We are here to help .

ATTENTION GREEK LEADERS: There is still one more position available on the Executive Board of the Interfraternity Council. This is a newly created position aimed at designing programs related to new and active member education, leadership transition and development, in addition to collecting involvement statistics and training new chapter officers.

Applications are available on OrgSync and close on Sunday January 10th at 11:45 PM. In addition to the application you will need a letter confirming your GPA and good standing in the chapter from both your advisor and chapter president.

The Interfraternity Council executive board would like to address the incident that occurred on Friday, August 21 in which several fraternity members placed highly offensive banners off their balcony. This was an embarrassing, unacceptable action that the general Greek community strongly denounces. The actions of these few fraternity members do not represent the values that they pledged to uphold. The Interfraternity Council’s judicial board will review this incident.
Students who choose to join the Greek community agree to hold themselves to a higher standard, values such as leadership, scholarship, brotherhood/sisterhood, and service. Moving forward we remain committed to the prevention of sexual and relationship violence, harassment, and abusive behavior and will continue to make this effort a priority. The Interfraternity Council will enhance its educational efforts in this regard and partner with the Women’s Center and Student Government Association to stop all of these types of incidents.
