Established in 2020, the John Evan Cash Scholarship in Psychology honors the memory of John Evan, a bright and compassionate fellow Monarch who believed everyone deserves support to live their best life 🫶❤️‍🔥This philosophy has been carried forward through the incredible work of the John Evan Cash Foundation, which provides scholarships, financial assistance, and mental health support.

This year’s recipient, Nena Lotzer, embodies that mission wholeheartedly. A psychology major with a minor in Children’s Rights, Nena is a devoted student, mother of two, and a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) working with children on the autism spectrum. One of her professors, Dr. Chris Sanders, shared that “Nena’s work speaks to her resilience and compassion. Despite the emotional and physical demands of her role - and limited hours due to her coursework - she has thrived.”

Please join us in congratulating Nena as this year's recipient and in celebrating the ongoing impact of the John Evan Cash Foundation🎉💙

Meet the family behind the Jarvis Family Endowed Scholarship - a scholarship offered yearly to full time undergraduate students pursing a psychology degree! Drs. Jarvis and Hoy have been essential in the academic career of several of our psychology students in the past 👣⭐ This year, Drs. Jarvis and Hoy join the academic journey of William Haber, a senior psychology student here at Old Dominion University.

William "Billy" Haber encompasses the curiosity and lifelong learning that Drs. Jarvis and Hoy emphasize in the field of psychology! Dr. Michelle Kelley, Billy's research mentor, mentions that "He is appreciative of any opportunities and recognizes them as valuable experiences...He is amazing. Truly one in a million."

Congratulations, William - your dedication, curiosity, and heart for service continue to inspire 👏💙
