We are recruiting active individuals to participate in a study looking to determine how various factors like body composition, diet, and exercise impact the use of urine specific gravity as a measure of hydration status. Participants get results from 3 different body composition tests free of charge. If you are >18 years old or exercise at least 3 days per week you may be eligible. Please see the attached recruitment flyer and contact Brian ([email protected]) if you are interested.

Looking for a way to analyze your body composition, but don't know where to start? Want an assessment to help you easily track your progress over time?

Here at Old Dominion University's Human Performance Lab YOU can visualize yourself in 3D with our Styku 3D Body Scan System! In less than one minute, a 3D image is created of yourself with a multitude of measurements (numerous circumference measurements, estimated percent body fat, etc.). Which you can compare to later scans, creating chart trends to visualize the changes to your body scans!

The Styku 3D Body Scan is a safe, efficient and effective way to assess body composition, and is one of the most popular body composition assessments to use here at the Human Performance Lab.

June 12th, pro cyclist Dan Netzer completed a VO2max test to find out the maximum amount of oxygen he can utilize during intense cycling, one of many factors that can determine an athlete's ability to perform sustained exercise. We also tested ventilatory threshold, a reflection of onset lactate accumulation in the blood, a marker that can be directly used to set training intensities and performance. We wish Dan well this week as he competes in the USACycling National Time Trial Championships and Road Race in Augusta, GA.
Here at the Human Performance Lab we offer a variety of exercise tests that measure fitness during walking, running, or cycling. If you are interested in finding out more information about these tests and how your fitness can be measured email the lab at [email protected]
