Here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year! 2017 has been an amazing year for our chapter with fantastic recruitment and a greater focus on what needs to be accomplished! We're looking forward to another year that will hopefully bring more opportunity and ways to serve our campus and community. We wish everyone safe travels and good luck with classes, work, and the like! We started the new year off celebrating Founder's Day and even though we were apart, we are still unified as brothers of the Iota Beta Chapter!

As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, we have so much to be thankful for. Whether it's the lifelong connections of brotherhood we've gained, the Greek unity we've had this semester, or the lessons we've learned on our journey through college. Through Shack-a-thon we learned the importance of how much we take for granted and even though we can imitate homelessness to a T, we will never be able to experience it like those who go through it day to day. We've grown a greater bond with the Zeta Pi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma this semester and are proud that we can work alongside other Greeks in fun and unity. They say these are the best years of our life and we're thankful that we get to experience it together at Virginia Wesleyan University and grow throughout our college experience. As we say thanks today let us not forget those we've lost and those who cannot afford to celebrate at all.

Today of all days we say thank you to all those who are currently serving, who have served, and who are no longer with us. This day serves as a reminder to not let us take for granted our freedom and sense of security. Saying "thank you" is a small token for such a big commitment to the honor and values that our nation stands for!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Wrap A Nu a success! We raised $86.01 for our brothers that we're devastated by Hurricane Harvey!

It is a sad day for the VWU community as we mourn the loss of Phillip Perdue and Lena Johnson. The Iota Beta Chapter appreciates their service to the university.

Today we're honoring and remembering the millions of veterans that have fought for and continue to fight for our rights to live in such a great country! We hope everyone takes time to reflect on the meaning of today and give respect where respect is due!

Hope everyone is HYPE about the fashion show tonight in the Grille from 7 to 9! If you didn't already know, we are having a 50/50 raffle (you are automatically entered with purchasing a ticket to attend the show which is only $3), all proceeds we make after we have done the raffle will be going to St. Jude's Children's Hospital! Come out, have a good time, support a good cause, and rally behind your fellow students who are involved in the show!

Mark your calendars, next Wednesday, April 5th from 7 pm - 9 pm is the Sigma Nu Fashion Show in the Grille!!! If you come to the table in Batten from 11 pm to 4 pm today, and next Monday through Wednesday to get your tickets for only $2, instead of $3 at the door! If you buy a ticket, you are automatically entered into a 50/50 raffle! If you want to participate in the show, come and register for one or more categories at our table, and try and blow away the competition! Our proceeds will be going to St. Jude's Children's Hospital!

Tomorrow is our last day of sales for our Sugar Shack Doughnut Fundraiser! Come to our table in Batten Student Center tomorrow if you haven't placed your order yet, you won't regret it! We'll be there from 11 am - 4 pm, and pickup is on Friday! We all kinds of doughnuts you can order so come on by! $8 for half a dozen and $14 for a dozen! We are also selling tickets to our Sigma Nu Fashion Show that will be on April 5th from 7 pm - 9 pm, get your ticket earlier and you can save a few bucks, only $2 dollars right now (you also get put into a 50/50 raffle)! We are also looking for people to sign up in each category for our show, we have prizes for category winners and many categories (School spirit, Formal, ABC (Anything But Clothes), Favorite Character, I Woke Up Like This, and Color Wars)! Pictured is our fundraising chair and one of our newest members Patrick! Special shout out to all the brothers who have volunteered to help man the table, y'all rock and we couldn't do this without you!
