On May 7th, 2026, Hampton University proudly hosted a Joint Commissioning Ceremony honoring graduating seniors from the Hampton Roads NROTC Battalion as they officially took the oath to become officers in the United States Navy.

This momentous occasion recognized the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of Ensign Ashton Burton, Ensign Jose Chapa, and Ensign Sean Ingram throughout their time within the battalion. Their commitment to leadership, service, and excellence has prepared them to take the next step in serving our nation.

Hampton University was honored to celebrate these newly commissioned officers alongside their families, friends, and fellow shipmates as they begin their journeys in the fleet and beyond. Congratulations to these outstanding leaders on this incredible achievement!⚓️

May 14th, 2026, Hampton Roads proudly hosted its Annual Joint Commissioning Ceremony to honor our graduating seniors as they officially took the oath to become officers in the United States Military. Midshipmen and cadets were recognized for their unwavering dedication, discipline, and sacrifice throughout their journey within the battalion. Their commitment to service and leadership has prepared them to take the next step in defending and serving our nation. We are incredibly proud of these outstanding leaders and look forward to the impact they will make in the fleet and beyond. Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on this remarkable achievement! 🎖️🪖⚓️

🏆 Battle for the Franzie 🏆

Three days of competition, Hampton Roads NROTC came together for one of the battalion’s most anticipated traditions, the Captain’s Cup. Midshipmen competed with pride, intensity, and teamwork for the chance to take home the Franzie.

From sharp performances on the drill pad to competitive matchups in 5v5 flag football, 4v4 street soccer, and dodgeball, every company brought energy and determination throughout the competition.

Captain’s Cup showcased more than competition it highlighted camaraderie, resilience, and battalion spirit, with every company member stepping up to participate and represent their company throughout the week.

Congratulations to Charlie/Foxtrot Company for earning the title of Captain’s Cup Champions and taking home the Franzie!

Huge thank you to everyone who volunteered at ODU’s game this Saturday! From the push-up squad bringing the energy, to parking lot duty keeping things running smooth, and our color guard representing with pride! Special shoutout to OC Holloway for making the tailgate happen! Hampton Roads NROTC is proud of the teamwork and dedication each volunteer showed!

Congratulations to Second Lieutenant Charles Lindsey on commissioning! Second Lieutenant Lindsey was commissioned on August 16th by Colonel Andre Ingram, surrounded by friends and family. Following his commissioning he will begin training at The Basic School. Semper Fi!
