Ruth Lodge No 89 AF & AM We are a Masonic lodge chartered in 1869. We hold our monthly meeting on the 2nd Tues of each month.

A quick word on the schedule for the coming weeks.
Stated meeting Tuesday, Dec 8 at 7:30 with dinner at 6:30.
Grand Lodge Annual Communication Nov 10 - 12.
FC practice Nov 16 & 21 at 7:00.
FC degree on Nov 22 at 7:00 for brother Blythe.
All are invited at attend and help with the degree work.

On February 20, Brother Bill Stallings received his 50 year pin and certificate. Bro. Stallings’ loving wife Nelda and daughter Kelly graciously opened their home for this celebration. Only a small group of Brothers assembled for the presentation over concerns about the coronavirus. Assisting WM Jim Arab and PM Danny Honaker was PM Mike Johnson of Corinthian Lodge No. 266, a long time friend and neighbor of Bro. Stallings. PM Mike presented Bro. Stallings with his 50-year pin while WM Jim read the 50-year certificate from the Grand Lodge of Virginia and assisted attaching the pin to Bro. Stallings’ lapel. It was hoped coronavirus restrictions would have eased by now and allowed for a more traditional presentation with a larger group of Brethren, including refreshments, but that was not the case. Brother Stallings’ 50 year presentation was already long overdue. It was a privilege and an honor to participate in this wonderful event.

Ruth Lodge had it's first virtual social get together Tuesday evening. A rousing success for a first-time effort. Thanks to all who joined in. A good time was had by all. Looking forward to our next one in two weeks. Stay tuned! Hopefully it won't be too much longer until we can meet again in Lodge.

Brethren and visitors of Ruth Lodge #89, please be advised that all Stated and Called Communications are further suspended until June 10, 2020. This suspension is by order of Grand Master, Most Worshipful Douglas V. Jones, of the Grand Lodge of Virginia. It is necessary to comply with Gov. Northam's Executive Order #55. Additionally, all area schools will be suspended until June 15, 2020.

We are reminded that all Lodge business must be conducted in a properly tiled Master Mason's Lodge. However, it is my sincere hope the Brethren will meet via a Zoom video conference in the very near future. This will be an informal opportunity to strengthen the bond of our Fraternity during this time of trouble. Stay tuned for further announcements.

Finally my Brothers, if you are in need do not hesitate to seek assistance. If not, I encourage you to reach out to a Brother who may be in need. We are here for one another.
