By Sherry DiBari Mounir Laroussi was a doctoral student at the University of Tennessee in the early 1980s when a lecture about plasma changed his career trajectory. “It just blew my mind. It was so interesting,” Laroussi said. “I was like, ‘Wow, I think I found what I want to do.’”
