Alpha Angels of Eta Tau The Angels is an Interest Group founded in 1972 on the campus of Illinois State University.

The Alpha Angels of Eta Tau was established one year after the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Eta Tau Chapter was founded on October 9, 1971, on the campus of Illinois State University, in Normal, IL. The first line of Alpha Angels was made on March 12, 1972, The Band of Clowns. With that name, one can only imagine what ultimately banded 14 young women together in sisterhood in support of the b

rotherhood. Through the ensuing years, bright, resourceful and ambitious female college students were drawn to the fraternity because of its positive reputation on campus. They, too, wanted to be associated with its mission goals, high standards and value placed on Black excellence. Those who toiled through and endured the pledging, yes pledging process, found that their hearts and allegiances were forever aligned with the nation’s first Black Greek organization.
