Room selection is almost here, Redbirds!
If you signed your contract and paid your initial payment by May 1, you’ll choose your room online through the Housing and Dining Portal. Check your email from May 13 for your selection date and next steps.
Key dates:
• TLLC room selection: June 15-16
• General selection: late June-early July (based on your assigned time)

Here’s what to know:
• The roommate with the earliest selection time chooses the room and adds others using portal numbers
• You don’t need a roommate to select a space
• If your preferred roommate missed the May 1 deadline, you won’t be able to match right now
• Our system can match you with someone who has a similar living style
• You can still choose a room even if you plan to go solo

Submitted your contract and initial payment after May 1?
You’ll share your preferences in the portal and be assigned a room in July.

Keep in mind that availability depends on what’s already been chosen and your place in the selection order. Some students get their first choice, others explore second or third options.

A few tips to stay ahead:
• Consider a Themed Living-Learning Community, where students select first
• Don’t stress if your top choice isn’t available, spaces shift often
• Ignore general advice about “best” residence halls; your experience will be your own

Move-Out is coming soon!
As the end of the semester approaches, here are some important tips to help you prepare for a smooth Move-Out:
All residence halls and on-campus apartments will close for the summer on Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. Be sure to select your Move-Out date and time in the Housing and Dining Portal.

Before You Leave...
• Return your keys to avoid charges.
• Clean your room and remove all trash.
• Reset the space and return your room to its original condition.
• Clear out your mailbox and plan ahead for any incoming packages. Redirect deliveries to your permanent address if needed.
• Retrieve any confiscated items before you go.

Have Items You Don’t Need?
• Donate gently used items to PASS IT ON through the Illinois State University Office of Sustainability!
• Collection bins are located in every residence hall lobby.
• Look for the donation trucks outside your building from Monday, May 5, through May 9.
• Items like clothes, small furniture, school supplies, and shoes will go to the Share Shop to support fellow Redbirds!

Loft Kits
If you checked out a loft kit, be sure to return it before finals week. Students in triples do not need to return loft kits. Details about returns will be posted on your floor or in your hall lobby.

Large Items
Place large, unwanted items in the designated areas near your building or by the dumpsters. Do not place large items in the trash chute.

Let’s finish the year strong. Thank you for doing your part to make Move-Out a breeze!
