Drivers are urged to proceed with caution while operating on campus and on all area roadways.

Remember black ice can form on roadways, due to melting and freezing of light snow accumulations on roads.

Due to the impending weather conditions for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7, 2014, Alabama A&M University will delay opening until 10 am

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area from midnight to 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. Possible freezing rain and light snow. Drive safely and beware of slick roads.

Today the Department of Public Safety investigated a burglary of an apartment in Normal Hills. We are seeking a black male who fled the scene and is described as:

dark in complexion
19-23 years old
6'1"
thin athletic build
long thin straight dread locks tied in a knot on top of head
maroon athletic zip up warm up jacket with A&M logo and possible hood
no white stitching on seams of jacket
light grey sweat pants
black scarf covering lower face
blue ( possibly cotton) gloves

Be advised there have been several thefts from purses in classroom and business building offices.

The suspect usually appears in an office area or classroom asking for directions, claiming to be a lost freshman or requesting help getting on a computer.

He is described as a black male, 6’ tall, thin, clean shaven, short hair, possible scar over eye, wearing a pinkish or red colored hoodie/jacket.

Please remain alert while moving around your workplace.

Put your purse and other valuables in a safe place that is not visible to people entering the office or classroom.

Report suspicious subjects or activity to Public Safety at 5555 or (256) 372-5555 immediately!
