A Night with Tesla: Electrification of Transportation and the Need for Renewable Energy
6-8pm, October 25th
Brown Ballroom, Bone Student Center
Guest Speaker
Dr. Seoung-Bum Son (Argonne National Laboratory)
There were 10 million electric cars on the world’s roads at the end of 2020, following a decade of rapid growth. The Sustainable Energy Consortium at Illinois State University, the ISU Renewable Energy Society (Student RSO), and the ISU Sustainable and Renewable Energy undergraduate major are hosting an event to support and explore this exciting electrification of transportation. The event will showcase a variety of Tesla electric vehicles from the Bloomington Tesla dealership, and will feature a guest battery expert from Argonne National Laboratory. The entire ISU community is invited, including students, faculty, staff, and the local community as well. Attendees at the event will hear about state-of-the-art battery technologies and have an opportunity to see and feel the state-of-art Tesla vehicles. Admission is free. Snacks, beverages, and music played by the ISU Jazz Ensemble are sponsored by the Office of Sustainability. The first 100 people to arrive at the event will receive a miniature replica of a Tesla Model 3.
