🦺 Construction Safety Week | Week in Review
This week, Construction Safety Week brought the industry together around a shared commitment: protecting one another through Recognize, Respond, and Respect.
🔎 Recognize
Early hazard recognition is key to safety success. Identifying risks before work begins, and reinforcing awareness through clear communication allows teams to implement effective controls. Tools like the Energy Wheel help improve recognition of high energy hazards and strengthen daily pre task planning conversations.
🚧 Respond
Recognizing hazards is only the first step. Applying the Hierarchy of Energy Control: prioritizing elimination, reduction, and isolation helps ensure the strongest protections are in place. Planning work with direct controls, verifying conditions in the field, and focusing inspections on high-risk activities turn awareness into action.
🤝 Respect
Safety is built on respect for every individual involved in a project. That includes owners, designers, contractors, trade partners, and skilled craft. When hazards are addressed early and workers feel empowered to speak up and use Stop Work Authority, trust grows, and a continuous safety feedback loop is created.
Construction Safety Week reinforces that safety is not a one-week focus. It’s an ongoing commitment. We’re proud to build on this momentum and carry these principles forward, All In Together.
