Congratulations to 27 wonderful public safety officials for successfully completing our OK-First certification class this week! They made it through a ton of weather training and now have access to customized tools to help keep their communities safe from all the crazy hazards Oklahoma weather throws at us!

A special thanks to our partners at the NWS (Norman, Tulsa, and Storm Prediction Center) for teaching portions of the class this week, including several soon-to-be retired colleagues who completed their last sessions after 25+ years!

Well the Climate Prediction Center dropped a stink bomb as we transition from climatological summer to fall tomorrow. Expect heat and drought to continue dominated our Oklahoma wx headlines for September. This is weighted heavily on the first half of the month, so keep hope alive for the second half of the month. Remember, El Nino could impact us later into the fall months as we've said since last spring.
