Today’s international student spotlight: Reagan Whynot, ‘28! 👏
🌎Where are you from, and what brought you to study here?
“My hometown is Russell, Ontario, Canada. Being able to continue playing competitive ice hockey while getting an excellent education is why I decided to choose Stonehill College. Stonehill was a perfect match for me since it has given me the opportunity to develop both professionally and athletically in an environment that is supportive.”
🇨🇦What’s one thing you love most about your home country?
“The feeling of belonging and community I have at home is one of my favorite things about Canada. People are always there to support one another, whether it’s via school, athletics, or small-town life.”
👩🎓What has been your favorite part of your experience as an international student?
“Meeting people from many different kinds of backgrounds while still being able to play hockey for the school has been my favorite part. I’ve been able to share my culture and learn from others while competing for Stonehill.”
💪What has been the biggest challenge, and how did you overcome it?
“Being away from family and adjusting to a new environment has been the biggest obstacle. I’ve overcome this by keeping contact with family and friends back home and creating strong support systems and friendships at Stonehill, especially with teammates.”
