During our 140th Annual Scholarship Gala, Shorter College was honored to receive a $1 million investment through the HBCU Brilliance Initiative.

The Brilliance Initiative was created to support HBCUs across the nation by helping institutions continue to thrive as centers of academic excellence, innovation, cultural pride, and community impact. Their vision is to create a future where financial barriers no longer limit the growth and success of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

As an institution, we are incredibly excited and grateful for this opportunity. Support like this helps strengthen the work being done at Shorter College and creates additional opportunities for both our students and our campus community.

We are thankful to the HBCU Brilliance Initiative for investing in the future of HBCUs and for being part of this important moment in Shorter College history.

Shorter College’s very own President Dr. Jeffery Norfleet represented the college on Capitol Hill this past week in support of the newly introduced IGNITE HBCU Excellence Act, joining fellow HBCU leaders from across the nation in important conversations surrounding the future of higher education and the lasting impact HBCUs continue to make in communities nationwide.

The IGNITE HBCU Excellence Act is a proposed bipartisan initiative designed to create stronger opportunities for Historically Black Colleges and Universities through investments in innovation, campus infrastructure, technology, and long-term institutional growth.

As a college committed to access, opportunity, and student success, Shorter College remains proud to be represented in spaces where decisions are being made to support the next generation of scholars and leaders.

Shorter College is proud to celebrate President Dr. Jeffery Norfleet on his graduation from Leadership Arkansas.

Leadership Arkansas brings together leaders from across the state who are committed to creating meaningful impact in their communities through service, collaboration, and leadership.

Dr. Norfleet’s continued investment in growth and leadership reflects the same passion and dedication he brings to Shorter College every day. His commitment to students, community, and the future of Arkansas continues to make a lasting impact both on and off campus.

Congratulations, Dr. Norfleet, on this incredible accomplishment.

94% pass rate and Nearly 100 students completing the program this term.

We are proud to recognize the incredible work being done through the Adult Education program at Shorter College as the final CNA class before summer break comes to a close.

A 94% pass rate does not happen overnight. It is the direct result of the dedication of our students, instructors, and Adult Education team who continue to show up and put in the work every single day.

Big congratulations to our students and Adult Education team. The work speaks for itself.
