University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College FBLA Collegiate The Pulaski Tech chapter of Phi Beta Lambda is the college business professional organization of Fut New name! Same great organization!

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate, formerly Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). The Pulaski Tech chapter of Phi Beta Lambda was charted in 1981 when the school was known as Pulaski Vocational Technical School. In 1991, Pulaski Tech became a two-year technical college and became Pulaski Technical College. Our PBL chapter reactivated in the Fall of 2008. In 2016, the school began the process t

o join the University of Arkansas System. On February 1, 2017, the school's name officially changed to the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College. Individuals who are enrolled at University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) may join our local chapter. Dues are $15 per academic year (August through July). Students do not have to be a business major or have a particular grade point to join. At the 2022 PBL National Leadership Conference, the announcement was made that the college-level organization of FBLA-PBL would be renamed FBLA Collegiate Division.

Lisa Gilbert, (UAPTC Class of 2016) and past UA-PTC FBLA Collegiate member, was recently elected Mayor of Elaine, Arkansas after a Tuesday, December 6 runoff election. Lisa returned to her hometown and has been active in her community. (News link: URBANE Magazine.)

Congratulations to Lisa Hicks Gilbert on being elected as the Mayor of Elaine, Arkansas! Check out her story in Issue 7 of URBANE Magazine, as well as the historic tragedy of the Elaine Massacre of 1919.

Arkansas State University Economics and Law Professor and Arkansas PBL State Adviser, Dr. Philip Tew, was interviewed by Northeast Arkansas News on October 7 about his opinion on the possible second round of CoVid-19 Congressional Relief. This aired locally on KJNB (Walnut Ridge) and KJNE (Jonesboro), the CBS and FOX affiliates in Jonesboro. Dr. Tew's soundbites from that interview appear in this clip.

For our UA-PTC PBL organization, we have not had any meetings because we need student members to join and get involved.
