Smith College Summer Programs Smith Precollege Programs are open to students entering 9th-12th grade. Our Precollege Programs offer a Smith experience for high school students.

Located in Northampton, MA. Join our 1, 2 or 4-week academic and residential programs at Smith Precollege in Northampton, MA. Study and live on-campus with students from all over the world. Courses offered:
Creative Writing | Women, Gender and Representation | Sustainable Futures | Summer Science and Engineering Program | College Readiness Workshop

For female-identified students in grades 9-12.

Our courses are non-credit, without the pressure of grades and competition.

-In our science and engineering program, you can build a robot, or analyze your DNA - we offer much more, so check out the website!
-In our history program, conduct research in the largest archive on women's history.
-Our environmental sustainability program enables you to get hands-on experience in Smith's premier, state of the art science labs, and then head out to Smith's preeminent environmental facility and become part of the sustainability movement!
-Our writing workshop exposes students to best-selling authors, and helps you hone your craft. we have something for everyone! Smith's summer programs are residential, and you will live in one of our distinctive campus houses with other students from across the country or the world! In the evenings, you have the option to attend lectures and presentations given by well-respected writers and scholars, have movie nights with friends, or experience the arts and culture Northampton is famous for.

✍️ Creative Writing Workshop
Find your voice in courses like Journalism, Writing Fantasy, Screenwriting, Science Fiction, and Poetry. Workshop your writing with peers, learn from published authors, and build confidence in your storytelling craft.
