Global insect populations are crashing so fast that scientists are calling it an "insect apocalypse." To track what’s happening, professor Mariana Abarca teamed up with a computer science student to build the "Mothitor"—a high-tech camera trap that automatically photographs and catalogs night-flying insects. Their goal is to deploy these traps across the eastern U.S. to gather the long-term data needed to protect our ecosystems.

The campus stepped into celebration mode as generations of alums walked together. What started over a century ago as a simple tribute to the seniors and faculty has become one of our absolute favorite traditions. It’s the perfect reminder that no matter when you graduated, we're all part of the same timeless community that brings together.

As the orchestra's next Music Director, she isn't just taking the podium of a top institution—she is breaking a historic glass ceiling as the first woman to ever hold the role. Whether she is expanding the orchestral canon or rethinking the concert experience for a new generation, Elim applies the same visionary grit to building community as she does to mastering masterpieces.
