We are proud to share that the Norwich University Physical Education Club was awarded the Giving Back Award for the 2024-2025 academic year!

This recognition celebrates our club’s commitment to service, particularly through our work with Special Olympics Vermont. This year, we had the incredible opportunity to support and help organize both the Unified Soccer and Basketball Tournaments, promoting inclusion, teamwork, and the power of sport.

This past Saturday, Norwich University proudly hosted the Vermont Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in Plumley Armory and Andrews Hall. The event was organized by the Organization & Administration in Physical Education Students, and it was an unforgettable day filled with sportsmanship, joy, and community.

A huge thank you goes out to the Athletic Training Program and all the incredible volunteers who gave their time, energy, and heart to make the day a success. Your support ensured a safe, smooth, and fun experience for every athlete.

From buzzer-beaters to high-fives, this event reminded us of the power of inclusion through sport. We are so proud to have been part of it!

The Norwich Physical Education program had an amazing time attending the SHAPE Vermont Conference this week! 🙌📚

Not only did our students gain valuable insights and connect with professionals across the state, but they also took the stage! 👏

🎤 Seth, John, and Dillon presented on the role of AI in Physical Education, sharing innovative tools and strategies to enhance teaching in today’s classrooms. 🤖🏃‍♀️

🧑‍🏫 Our student teachers presented on their real-world experiences in the field, offering thoughtful reflections and lessons learned from their time working with students.

💬 We also had the incredible opportunity to connect with Norwich alumni, hearing about their journeys and continued impact in the world of physical education. It was inspiring to see how strong the Norwich PE community is—past and present! 💛

🎉 Huge congratulations to Celine Juneau for being named Outstanding Future Professional by SHAPE Vermont! 🏆

Celine is a recent graduate of Norwich University, finishing her B.A. in Physical Education this past December. During her time at Norwich, she led with heart and hustle—serving as President of the Physical Education Club in her Junior year and competing in Soccer, Lacrosse, and Club Hockey. ⚽🥍🏒

Our Physical Education program organized a fantastic Vermont Special Olympics basketball tournament, bringing together 18 teams for a day of sportsmanship and inclusion. It was truly heartwarming to witness participants of all abilities playing side by side, showcasing the power of inclusion and teamwork. We extend our sincerest gratitude to all the volunteers, supporters, and participants who contributed to the success of this memorable event. Our Physical Education Program and alumni recently attended the SHAPE Vermont conference, where students engaged in enlightening sessions focusing on physical education and health. Not only did they gain valuable knowledge, but they also had the invaluable opportunity to network and connect with educators who are experts in the field. It was a rewarding experience that further enriched their understanding and passion for promoting wellness. Additionally, meeting with Norwich alumni at the conference added another layer of connection and inspiration to their experience.
