portunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. The undergraduate experience offers a choice of being in the Corps of Cadets or as a civilian student. Both lifestyles are integrated within the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in student organizations. As an NCAA Division III school, the University sponsors varsity athletic competition in men's and women's ice hockey, football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, baseball, softball, men's and women's lacrosse, women's volleyball, men's and women's wrestling, men's golf, coed rifle, men's tennis, and men's and women's swimming and diving. Norwich also fields varsity teams in men's and women's rugby, which are governed by National Collegiate Rugby (NCR). Norwich's teams compete against strong New England competition in a number of conferences. Men's and women's ice hockey compete in the Little East Conference (LEC). The football team plays in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), while the remaining teams compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Norwich University has named Carrick Pell as the next head coach of the men's rugby program.

Pell arrives in Northfield following a highly successful tenure at Babson College, where he transformed the Beavers into one of the nation's top collegiate rugby programs. His teams captured NCR national championships in both 15s and 7s during the 2023 season and rose from Division IV to Division I-AA competition.

A veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force, Pell brings more than a decade of head coaching experience, a championship rΓ©sumΓ©, and a leadership philosophy centered on developing young men on and off the pitch.

He succeeds Bob Weggler, whose 25-year tenure established Norwich as one of the most respected rugby programs in the country.

"When people ask what it means to have been selected as the Head Men's Rugby Coach at Norwich University, the answer is simple: it is incredibly humbling."
