Coalition of Hmong Students The Coalition of Hmong Students aims to raise awareness of Hmong culture and history on Carleton Col

Northfield, Minnesota's Carleton College is home to over a dozen Hmong students who hail from the Twin Cities and other near-by cities. The Hmong student organization, Coalition of Hmong Students (CHS), is also open to all students on campus and currently has members from many different ethnicities as well. The Coalition of Hmong Students hosts a number of events on campus, some which range from s

ocials to fundraising events. One of the organizations largest events include the Annual Hmong New Year, which is organized in collaboration with St. Olaf College's Hmong Culture Outreach student organization, to not only promote the Hmong culture, but teach the students, professors, and the community about it's history and traditional practices also. Every three years, the organization hosts an Alumni Dinner, in which they the college's Hmong alums to come back to campus and share how they've progressed in their professional careers. In addition to all of this, the organization also engages itself in the greater community. At weekly meetings, there are often discussions about many of the problems that the Hmong youth and culture face today. In the past, members have even traveled to attend Hmong National Development Conferences.

After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, Coalition of Hmong Students 2022-23 is excited to invite you to our Hmong New Year celebration. This event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5th in Great Hall at Carleton College from 11:00AM - 2:00PM.
