Congratulations to Stefan Schouten on being named Treibs Medalist this year! Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to talk science hypotheses (or look at MS data!) with Stefan knows this award is so well deserved!

Stefan Schouten, Senior Research Scientist at the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, will receive the 2018 Alfred Treibs Award this summer. We are welcoming Audrey Taylor to Notre Dame as a new PhD student! Audrey comes to us from her undergraduate in North Carolina where she worked on a few projects with Dr. Chad Lane using compound specific leaf wax isotopes, fire biomarkers, etc. from sites in Portugal and around the SE US.

Congratulations to PhD students Keith O'Connor and Alejandra Cartagena-Sierra on their recent Geological Society of America Graduate Student Research grants! Funds will be used to support analyses as part of their dissertations on Alaska and the Agulhas Current, respectively.
