Notre Dame ASCE

We are the Notre Dame Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Each year we compete at the Great Lakes Regional Conference against other local collegiate chapters in a number of competitions, including the steel bridge and concrete canoe. We also work throughout the year to bring all the civil engineering students together through activities, games, tours and lectures.

A big thank you to Frost Engineering & Consulting and Joe Klatt for supporting our Timber Strong team (pictured above) by offering a Strucutural Wood Deaign course at Notre Dame! The course, taken by undergraduate and graduate students has been helpful for giving our Timber Strong team the foundation they need for the Simpson Strong-Tie Timber Strong Competition!

With Steel Cities Steels Inc’s help, our Steel Bridge team qualified for its first-ever / National Student Steel Bridge Competition this year in El Paso, TX (team photo above!), by earning a second-place finish at the 2026 !

It was a banner year of growth and barrier-breaking for our Steel Bridge team; thank you to Steel Cities Steels Inc for helping to make that possible.
