Good Friday is not the end, it is the cost of purpose.

It is a reminder that meaningful work often requires sacrifice, endurance, and faith in what cannot yet be seen. For leaders, this truth remains: Transformation is rarely comfortable, but it is always necessary.

At LIAT, we walk with leaders who are committed to doing the work that shapes lives, strengthens communities, and speaks to the moment with integrity. Stay the course. What you are building matters. When you are ready to deepen your preparation, enrollment is open.

Before sacrifice, there was service.
On this day, Jesus redefined leadership—not through authority, but through humility. He knelt. He served. He prepared others for what was coming, even when they did not yet understand.

This is the kind of leadership that transforms lives.
Not loud. Not self-seeking. But intentional, steady, and rooted in love.

Maundy Thursday calls us to examine how we lead.
Are we seeking position, or are we embracing purpose?
Are we being served, or are we willing to serve?

True leadership begins at the lowest place, and rises through faithfulness.

This week begins with a procession, but not one of comfort.

Palm Sunday reminds us that purpose does not always arrive quietly. It calls us forward, often into spaces that require courage, conviction, and clarity.

At LIAT, we are committed to developing leaders who do not shrink from their calling, but step fully into it; prepared to serve, speak, and lead with impact.

As you reflect this week, consider: What assignment are you being called to walk into? Spring 2026 enrollment is now open https://liatedu.org. Take the next step in your leadership journey!

As we begin this first Sunday of 2026, we do so with grateful hearts and renewed hope. On behalf of Dr. Brenda Guess, Chancellor, the Leadership Institute at Allen Temple gives thanks for our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners who continue to shape this sacred learning community.

The year behind us reminded us that leadership is grounded in faith, courage, and responsibility. As we step into 2026, we remain committed to carrying forward the vision of our beloved founder, Rev. Dr. J. Alfred Smith, Sr., by equipping leaders who preach with integrity, lead with compassion, and serve with purpose.

May this new year bring clarity, strength, and fresh opportunity as we continue the work together. We look forward to learning, growing, and building with you in the days ahead.
