IESA - Lewis F. Rogers Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis IESA is a teaching, research, and public service resource whose focus is the characterization and management of environmental concerns in Northeast Georgia.

Specific goals within this broad mission include:
٭ To provide training and educational programs and opportunities in the geospatial technologies.
٭ Developing programs to maintain and improve the environment in NE Georgia;
٭ Giving individuals technical and conceptual tools to asses and manage environmental problems in watershed management, soil, conservation, forestry, engin

eering, environmental policy, politics and law, health, communications, and society and the environment;
٭ Providing opportunities for public education and professional training in environmental health, environmental communications, and social dimensions of environmental issues;
٭ Raising public awareness of the importance of environmental issues and the effects of land use changes and development on water quality, environmental health, environmental policies, and social issues involving environmental concerns.

Graduate Research Assistant Position (2024-2025 Academic Year)

Summary:
Analyze and evaluate the overall landscape, particularly the spatial distribution of caregiver respite services in the state of Georgia.

Essential Duties:
Graduate Research Assistant is expected to assist with data gathering & processing, GIS maps development, report & manuscript preparation, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
• Enrolled Graduate Student at the University of North Georgia (M.S. in Spatial Data & Information Sciences is preferred) - Deadline to apply for program is Aug. 1
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro or any other GIS software is preferred.

Length:
Estimated 32 weeks, starting from Fall Semester 2024.

Hours & Pay:
Estimated 25 hours per week, $15.50 per hour.
Tuition waiver for academic year 2024-2025
