We're at a unique point in US History. With much more access to information, why do we lack individual research? I take personal offense to hear that the public is "dumber." I think at this point we should all seek to be educated outside of the traditional school system and prove this guy wrong. Education does not belong to the privileged or to the elite or only to those with the means to continue past high school. Education belongs to all of us and we must daily seek it with the resources we have been given, even if it requires creative approaches. We cannot accept the risk of losing knowledge by not pursuing it.
In the interview, this fake-news writer says:
"Honestly, people are definitely dumber. They just keep passing stuff around. Nobody fact-checks anything anymore — I mean, that’s how Trump got elected. He just said whatever he wanted, and people believed everything, and when the things he said turned out not to be true, people didn’t care because they’d already accepted it. It’s real scary. I’ve never seen anything like it."
The man responsible for many of this year's viral political hoaxes thinks he may have swung the election.
