Join us for our last event in our month-long series about the Japanese American wartime incarceration experience. Professor Brian Hayashi of Kent State University will be speaking at 7pm on Thursday, March 15 in Dye Lecture Hall, 119 Woodland St. on his work re-interpreting the Japanese American wartime experience. And don't miss the Courage and Compassion exhibit while it is in Oberlin. The exhibit is free and open to the public this weekend (Saturday, March 17 from 10am-5pm and Sunday, March 18 from 12:00pm-5:00pm). The exhibit will be closing and leaving Oberlin after the 18th.

We are looking forward to an exciting week with some amazing events!

Don't miss "Courage and Compassion: A Musical Celebration" on Wednesday, March 7 at 4:30 in Stull Hall in the Oberlin Conservatory. This recital, which honors the Japanese American students who attended the Conservatory during the war years, will feature a special performance by Alice Imamoto Takemoto '47. Reception to follow.

Then at 7:00pm, join us for a free screening of the documentary, "Relocation, Arkansas: Aftermath of Incarceration," a film that features the story of Alice Takemoto and her son, Paul. The screening will take place in the Apollo Theatre and will be followed by a discussion with director Vivienne Schiffer, and Alice and Paul Takemoto.

The Courage and Compassion Exhibit will be open for special public viewing hours on Wednesday, March 7th from 2:30pm-4:0pm and 5:30pm-6:45pm.

An amazing evening with San Jose Taiko--both an incredible performance and a wonderful opportunity to learn about the history of this art form. Kudos to all the people who helped make it possible to bring San Jose Taiko to Oberlin, especially Oberlin College Taiko and Mackenzie Lew!
