Rooted in service and growing impact 🌱💗

Under the leadership of Chairman Trellis Hagins, we proudly showed up and showed out for the Mayor’s Clean Up Day and the City of Ocala Earthfest Celebration, and the results speak for themselves:

21 pieces of electronic waste recycled (57 lbs)
5 gallons of paint properly collected
1 tree planted
130+ trees distributed to our community
2 gardens planted
60+ pounds of litter and trash removed from our community

This is what happens when service meets purpose.

Thank you to our dedicated chapter members, supportive family and friends, and our incredible Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) participants who rolled up their sleeves and got to work. Because of you, our community is cleaner, greener, and better.

And we’re just getting started.

An evening of legacy, leadership, and a call to action.

We were honored to attend the 44th Annual NAACP Freedom Fund and Awards Banquet, where Senator LaVon Bracy Davis delivered a dynamic and timely message on “the urgency of now.” Her words were powerful, purposeful, and a reminder that the moment to act is not tomorrow… it’s right now.

Adding to the pride of the evening, our very own Eta Tau Omega President had the distinct honor of introducing this phenomenal leader and fellow woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Moments like these fuel the mission and strengthen our commitment to service, advocacy, and impact in our community.

On Earth Day (April 21, 2026) the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Eta Tau Omega Chapter honored our dear sister TiJuana Jenkins Woods (IBTW) by planting a Red Flame Maple tree in memory of her service to our sorority and the City of Ocala. The tree, a symbol of strength, beauty and lasting legacy, is located near the ball field at Lillian Bryant Park, a short
walk from her childhood home.
May her memory live in each leaf, through every season and in each life she touched.

In honor of Mrs. TiJuana Jenkins Woods, we plant a Red Flame Maple, a symbol of strength, beauty, and lasting legacy. Just as this tree will grow and flourish, so will the impact she made in the lives of so many. Her memory lives on in every leaf, every season, and every life she touched.

The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Eta Tau Omega Chapter proudly hosted “Career and College Bound: The Pinkprint” and what an incredible success it was!

Students rotated through interactive stations designed to prepare them for what’s next, gaining valuable insight on resume building, completing college applications, interviewing skills, money management, and mental health awareness. Each session was filled with practical tools, real conversations, and guidance to help them walk confidently into their future.

From thoughtful questions to powerful moments of connection, the energy in the room made it clear that our students are ready to take their next steps with purpose and preparation.

We are grateful for the opportunity to pour into the next generation and remain committed to empowering students as they plan for college, career, and beyond.

What an incredible time at the 73rd South Atlantic Regional Conference (SARC) in Orlando, Florida, April 1–5, 2026! 💗💚

We had the opportunity to learn, grow, and engage in meaningful community service while also handling the important business of Alpha Kappa Alpha. It was inspiring to come together with our phenomenal sisters from Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, united in purpose and sisterhood.

The experience was exciting, exhilarating, and truly educational. From powerful sessions to unforgettable moments of connection, we left energized and ready to continue serving our communities with excellence.

SARC 2026 reminded us that when we come together, we soar higher, serve deeper, and strengthen the bonds of sisterhood. Onward and upward! ✨
