As a club, we meet together often to learn and play various genres of table top and card games. All of our meetings begin between 12:00pm and 1:30pm most times. This semester, we added additional meeting days throughout the week, in an effort to provide more students, faculty and staff at Weber State University, and Northern Utah community members, the opportunity to learn about the wonderful Tabl
e Top Gaming Hobby. Tuesday Game Days starting at 12:00pm (meet in the Student Involvement and Leadership Office, third floor of the Shepherd Union Building) — Are reserved for teaching and playing games that we have determined are a great fit for family game night. These games tend to have rules that are not difficult to learn, can be played in a short amount of time (typically less than an hour, but no more than an hour-and-a-half), and a re appropriate for all ages to play. In the past, we have payed the following games during these game days: Ticket to Ride, Dominion, Takenoko, Pandemic, Forbidden Desert and Power Grid for example. Wednesday Meetings (to be determined) — We are in the planning phase of getting together times when our students who are interested in learning more about table top game design can get together and talk with local and national game designers. Thursday Game Days starting at 1:00pm (please contact the group for location) — Are reserved for games that take multiple meetings to play through campaigns (adventure games like Descent: Journeys in the Dark, Mice and Mystics or Mansions of Madness for example) Anyone wishing to join one of these play groups is welcome to attend. Given the nature of these types of games, please let us know if you plan to attend (whenever possible) so that we can have enough copies of the games available to play. Friday Game Days starting at 1:30pm (meet in the Nontraditional Student Center, on the third floor of the Shepherd Union Building, near the Testing Center) — Are open gaming days. Bring your favorite game to play, or play one of ours! How about social games like The Resistance, Coup or Love Letter? Maybe you prefer slinging lighting bolts at your adversary, a la Magic: the Gathering, or capturing that elusive Pokemon? Maybe you love liberating agendas from evil corporations in Android: Netrunner? Or collecting sets and runs (Phase10, Rummikub, Five Crowns, etc.)? Because Friday is the end of the school week at WSU, we have more time to play multiple games during these meetings. Also, we have more space available to run multiple games at one time. It is common to hear some yell "Uno" at one table, while others are preventing the spread of a dangerous epidemic (Pandemic) at another, and to see one army decimated by enemy weapons at a third.
