IVCC’s Medical Assisting Program prepares individuals for an active role in health care through classroom, laboratory, and hands-on experiences. Medical assistants are responsible for performing a range of administrative & clinical tasks, including:
Scheduling patient appointments and maintaining communication with patients and providers, recording vital signs, documenting physician notes and chan
ges in medical conditions, collecting tissue and fluid samples and sending them in for laboratory analysis, prepping and assisting providers with patient care and much more! The Medical Assisting Program is designed to be completed in one full year and is a great way to either start or expand your skills in the healthcare field. By completing IVCCs Medical Assisting Program, students will then be eligible to sit for National certification through either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) to gain the title CMA or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) to gain the title RMA.
