Illinois Valley Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, in the Board Room (C-307).

Before consideration of the regular agenda, a public hearing will be held on a sale of working cash bonds.

The agenda includes a local match for the Project Success TRIO program, board policies, and possible approval of the School Resource Officer Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Oglesby.

🎾 IVCC women's tennis won 8-1 over College of Dupage last night. The doubles teams of Izzy Pecchio/Raleigh Leininger and Grace Pecchio/Phoebe Shetterly remain undefeated, winning their matches 8-0 and 8-2 respectively. Ellie Taylor/Yaquelin Hernandez also won their doubles match 8-4. The Eagles also had 5 singles wins from Grace Pecchio (6-3, 6-4), Izzy Pecchio (6-0, 6-0), Raleigh Leininger (6-4, 6-2), Phoebe Shetterly (6-0, 6-1), and Yaquelin Hernandez (6-2, 6-3).

The Eagles' next home meet is Sunday, September 13 at 10:30 AM against Sauk Valley.

⛳ The IVCC men's golf team traveled to Metamora Fields Golf Course in Metamora, IL for the 2026 Cougar Classic hosted by Illinois Central College.

For 36-hole tournament, the Eagles shot a two-round total of 600 to finish in 6th place out of 18 teams. Sophomore Chandler Creedon led the way with a 36-hole total of (-1) 141 to finish tied for 4th place. Freshman Jamie Doyle also placed in the top 10 with a 36-hole total of (+3) 145 to take home 8th place.

The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, September 15th at the Skyhawk Classic hosted by Sauk Valley.

Did you know Wild Bill Hickok had LaSalle County ties? Join us Monday, September 14 at IVCC in-person or by Zoom from 6-8 PM for the LaSalle County History Series.

The evening program will feature two LaSalle County Legends: Wild Bill Hickok and George Preston Blow. Speakers are Alex Rezvan from the Mendota Museum & Historical Society and Gary Biolchini from the Westclox Museum.

🏐 IVCC women's volleyball overcame a slow start and rallied for a four-set victory against Black Hawk last night with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-19, and 25-23.

After dropping the opening set, the Eagles responded with three consecutive set victories, closing out a tightly contested fourth set to secure the match.

Ava Currie paced the Eagles with 13 kills, while Kelsey Frederick added 10. Karsyn Brucker contributed 7 kills, Kaitlyn Anderson finished with six, Malayna Pitte recorded five, and Anna Riva added four. Ava Currie was also a force at the net, recording 4 blocks.

The Eagles received strong play from their setters throughout the match. Emma Jereb led IVCC with 25 assists, while Lauren Haribson added 17. Defensively, Camille Huckleba led the Eagles with six digs, while Piano recorded four and Jereb added three.

The Eagles will host a Tri-Match, Saturday, September 12, with Harper College and Spoon River College starting at 9 AM.

A family's generous donation to the Illinois Valley Community College Ag Forward Campaign for the new Dr. Alfred E. Wisgoski Agricultural Education Center will be recognized with a new mosaic bench bearing their name. The bench is being created by local artist Susan Burton.

Retired IVCC employee Diane Kreiser recently contributed $5,000 to the campaign in memory of her parents, Laverne “Bud” and Marjorie Wiesbrock of rural Leonore.

⚽ The IVCC Athletics Department has announced a schedule change. Wednesday's men’s soccer game against Kennedy King College is canceled and rescheduled for Thursday at 4 p.m. at IVCC.

Illinois Valley Community College’s dental health program, which provides free and low-cost dental care to the public, is accepting patients for deep-cleaning appointments.

Unlike routine cleaning of the tooth surfaces, deep-cleaning treatments extend below the gumline and take more time. Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The comprehensive procedure typically lasts two to three hours and may take more than one appointment.

IVCC dental assisting and dental hygiene students provide dental care under the supervision of volunteering dentists and licensed dental hygienists. The clinic is a valuable training setting for students and an important resource for the community because it makes dental care accessible and affordable.

The public pays $30 for cleanings (cash or check only). IVCC students and employees receive all services at no cost. The clinic does not accept any form of insurance for payment, but the fee will be waived for patients who show proof that they qualify for Medicare or Medicaid.

🎾 women’s tennis is off to a great start following a 6-3 victory against Moraine Valley on Friday. Doubles teams Izzy Pecchio and Raleigh Leininger won 8-3 and Grace Pecchio and Phoebe Shetterley won 8-1. In singles matches, Ellie Taylor, Izzy Pecchio, Raleigh Leininger, and Phoebe Shetterly all brought home victories.

The Eagles' next home match is Wednesday, September 9th against College of DuPage.
