Meet Luckie 🍀🩷
Luckie is a 4-5 month old lab mix with the softest soul. She was rescued from the streets after being found severely underweight, covered in fleas, and with injuries caused by flea infestations. Despite her rough start, Luckie’s gentle spirit has never faded.
She’s still learning how to be a puppy and how to trust people, but she’s making beautiful progress every day. Luckie is very calm, sweet-natured, and loves nothing more than a soft, cozy place to lay down. She eats like a champ, is good with other dogs and cats, and is starting to learn basic commands with patience, consistency, and love.
Luckie can be a little timid at first, but once she warms up, she forms a deep bond and wants to stay close to her person at all times. She’s looking for a family who understands that trust takes time & who will celebrate every small win along the way!!

FYI - I am not immune from appliance emergencies. This week I had to replace my oven ignitor and just had to order a new control board for my Maytag washer.

October 7, 1983 - For my birthday in September my dad got us two tickets to watch the wrestling on October 7th at the Richmond Coliseum, (Va), which was to feature not only ANDRE THE GIANT in a 3 on one handicap match but ALSO a battle royal as the last match. On the way to the match we drove by this clock tower while it was on fire. Even though he got into the far left lane, the heat still hit me in the front passengers seat! This is a core memory of mine. We got the the matches and about halfway through they announced that because of travel difficulties, ANDRE was not going to be there. This pi**ed my dad off and we walked around trying to find someone to get a refund, He thought the night was ruined for me because ANDRE wasn't going to be there. I told him it was okay, I still wanted to stay. As the battle royal was about to start, they announced ANDRE had made it! I got to see him in real life. I dont think he won , I think someone he eliminated hit him with a chair and he chased he out of the ring, thus eliminating himself in search of justice. what a great night. I used the story of the fire in my interview to get hired with OKC Fire in 2006. I dont think there's ever a time that I see something about ANDRE or this clock tower without remembering this night and my dad. He would have been 69 this year, he died 19 years ago.
