This week's recommendation comes from Sunny!

Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver

“Kingsolver novels always hit home for me. She always finds a way to make the ordinary feel extraordinary. So far, Prodigal Summer is as beautifully written as everything else I have read by her.”

We are so excited to see Elizabeth Frisk, 2026's Miss Sooner State Collegiate, introduce OCCC's first Little Free Library.

"It’s been a honor to introduce a new Little Free Library to the OCCC community - built on the belief that literacy and educational resources should be accessible to all ages and stages of life. Alongside a wide variety of books provided by our very own community, the library will also include additional resources such as coloring books, crayons and budget-conscious recipe materials when available to further support students and their families.

This project serves as a small token of appreciation to the campus that has supported my journey in advancing my higher education while balancing a full-time career."

Stop by the library drop off lane to visit the brand new little library or visit https://littlefreelibrary.org to learn more about Free Little Library projects.

This week's recommendation comes from Dana!

The Eights by Joanna Miller

"This novel focuses on the lives of four young women who were the first women to earn degrees at Oxford University. The story takes place just after World War I and provides insight to the gradual inclusion of females in higher education as well as the struggles they face as survivors of war-time Britain.”
