For students in Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business, entering the professional arena comes with a mix of personalized guidance, real-world networking and cutting-edge technology.

Central to the initiative is building a two-way pipeline between OCU's campus and the business community, a mission spearheaded by Kyle Golding, director of corporate relations and special projects for the school. An OCU alumnus and veteran business consultant, Golding views MSB Career Services as an administrative necessity combined with an engine for economic growth, matching high-performing applicants to top-level jobs in several industries.

Rayburn knew coming into college that she wanted to do something in the business world. She started her undergrad career as a business administration major and later learned it would be beneficial to focus on a specific aspect.

Despite a family tree full of accountants and a love for math, that job title wasn’t quite to her liking. Her continuing love for numbers led to a finance degree in 2025.

"Our goal is to help you become a principled leader who creates value, strengthens organizations, and makes a meaningful impact on your community and beyond."

As we begin a new academic year, I want to personally welcome you to the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University. Like me, you may be starting your first semester, or you may be returning to continue your journey. Together, we are part of a community committed to academic excellence, meaningful connections, and personal growth.

I am honored to serve as your new dean and look forward to meeting you, learning about your goals, and supporting your success. Together, we will build on the proud tradition of the Meinders School of Business while preparing you to lead with character, confidence, and purpose in an ever-changing global economy.

A business education should do more than prepare you for your first job. It should equip you for a lifetime of success, adaptability, and leadership. This year, we will continue to strengthen our curriculum through modern business practices, emerging technologies, experiential learning, and meaningful connections with industry leaders.

I encourage you to challenge yourself in the classroom, engage fully with our faculty and your peers, and take advantage of every opportunity to grow. Just as importantly, use your time here to discover your unique strengths, define your personal brand, and develop a deeper understanding of what sets you apart. Take a few moments to listen to the wisdom of MSB professor Mike Williams, one of the most popular (with students and faculty) professors on the Oklahoma City University campus and the 2026 Faculty Member of the Year. His sage advice to our most recent graduates can be applied to anyone at any point in their pursuit of success. A few days after receiving this award, Michael Williams was diagnosed with cancer and, sadly, was unable to attend the graduation.
Huge thanks to OCU Photo Video Team for this production. For the 2026 Faculty of the Year announcement, OCU’s creative team wanted to tell a story that captured more than a moment — we wanted to capture the person behind the honor.
Taking a cinematic storytelling approach, we filmed the entire project on anamorphic lenses, creating a visual language that felt intimate, intentional, and worthy of Michael’s story.
Some stories deserve more than a ceremony. They deserve to be remembered.

"Events like our career fairs are designed to give Oklahoma City employers direct access to our students," Kyle Golding, Director of Corporate Relations for the school noted. "The feedback we receive from the corporate community consistently reinforces that MSB students are uniquely prepared for immediate impact. When we bring top-tier employers to campus, it’s a springboard for the next generation of Oklahoma’s business leaders."

Another in-person offering that started this year is the MSB Spring Career Fair, an exclusive on-campus event designed specifically for business majors. At the request of employers, Golding plans to start hosting two career fairs per academic year, one in the fall and another in the spring. The inaugural fair in April brought a prestigious lineup of prominent Oklahoma City employers directly to MSB students including Arledge & Associates CPA, Bank of Oklahoma, Bethany Children's Health Center, Brewer Flooring Group, Insurica, Northwestern Mutual and Oklahoma's Credit Union.

The Meinders School of Business has recently established additional career service offerings including AI-assisted resume building and job application tools, an Executives in Residence program, and hosting in-house job fairs.

MSB has modernized its technological toolkit through a partnership with WriteSea, an innovative career prep platform assisted by artificial intelligence. Tailored specifically for upperclassmen, the platform optimizes the job application process from start to finish including resume building and cover letter crafting, interview prep, LinkedIn profile optimization, job searching and salary negotiation.

WriteSea is just one component of a multi-pronged digital strategy curated by MSB Career Services. Students gain direct access to a curated job board featuring internships and college-friendly employment listings, alongside the widely utilized Handshake network.

Recognizing the shift toward flexible working environments, the school has integrated Virtual Internships into its roster. These project-based roles allow students to gain professional experience and build immediate corporate portfolios without disrupting their academic schedules.

MSB pairs cutting-edge tech with face-to-face career acceleration, using its Executives in Residence program and exclusive, twice-yearly business career fairs to link students directly with top Oklahoma City employers. Supported by data showing career center users are more likely to land jobs or paid internships, MSB’s strategic pipeline is launching students into long-term professional success.
