Robert Lange is the youngest of four children of Jim and Helen Lange.
Born May 1, 1962, Robert loved drawing. He learned much at the feet of his father, Daily Oklahoman award winning political cartoonist Jim Lange, about drawing and being a political cartoonist.
Robert said he spent much time not only at the feet of his father but under his feet as he played around his Dad’s desk and drew on paper while his Dad worked. He’s been drawing as long as he can remember.
Although music was his first love, one day while he was at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond he decided drawing was what he wanted to do. He enrolled at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee to study art and that’s what he’s done ever since.
Robert Lange has been drawing cartoons professionally since 1982. He has worked as a political cartoonist, art director, college professor and technical illustrator. He joined the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists in 1987.
Robert entertains as a caricature artist for private parties, schools, company picnics, art festivals and various events.

I met Robert Lange at the Paseo art show and his drawings are excellent. His caricatures truly capture the features of the person, and he draws them very quickly. It’s amazing to watch. Robert has also worked at a party that I had and he was a real hit. He really adds to the party atmosphere with his humor and stories. Also, if you are looking for an interesting retirement or birthday gift, or if you want to remember a trip that you took with your family, Robert can speak to you about the person, or place and put the whole occasion into an illustration. It is like having your own personal cartoon, very detailed, and just wonderful. I can’t say enough about the creative talents of Robert Lange.
