Days 8 and 9: Saturday was load and travel time back to Quito where we spent some time at the Equator Museum! We ended the evening with our hosts sending us off with a cookout, games, and fellowship. We are so grateful for our amazing hosts, Angel and Krista Sigui for a terrific week. We are well, served well, and fellowshipped well, thanks to them❤️ today we finish our journey with a 3AM departure, and a 10:30PM arrival back in KC, after a 7 hour layover in Miami. Until next time, Ecuador!! 🇪🇨🇺🇸❤️

Ecuador Day 7: the day ended with two concerts in downtown Riobamba at performing arts theatre. The first concert we featured a children’s choir from the school. It was such a beautiful worship time! (Video clip of this performance in a following post). The audience was engaged and worshipped with us in both services. It was a wonderful reminder of what heaven will be like, worshipping with people of every language. Earlier in the day we enjoyed playing various sports and games with the children from the school in their gym. Relationships were built with these children, teachers and administrators of the school with our team. Again, a beautiful picture of the family of God going across all borders and barriers. 📷: and Ted

Ecuador Day 6: Today ended with a beautiful service. We shared our music and a local pastor preached and the Spirit moved! So amazing to worship together in both English and Spanish! Earlier in the day we did more teaching and recitals for the middle and high school students at the school. We also helped with a couple painting projects. Another highlight was our students breaking into small groups and visiting individual classes. MNU students shared their stories about how God led them to University and how their vocational training will be used to serve God. We then prayed for the Ecuador students, blessing them and encouraging them in their studies and pursuit of God.

Ecuador Day 5: Sightseeing day! We started the day with a clear view of Mt. Chimborazo (pic 2). Then we drove to Baños, a beautiful scenic area. We visited a scenic view overlooking the town with Volcano Tungurahua (16k ft) in the background. We saw a large waterfall named El Pailón del Diablo, and rode a zip line in an open gondola over a huge ravine. In between all of these adventures, we rode a bumpin’ party bus with music and lights that we rented as our taxi for the day. Shout out to our Missionary, Angel Sigui for planning an enjoyable day that allowed us to appreciate God’s beautiful creation!

Ecuador Day 4. Today started with presenting about all of the instrument families to half the school children and performing some solos and small ensembles for them. The afternoon brought more teaching, and moving a storage room to a new room, which partially involved moving hundreds of rolls of TP, graduation robes and caps, and shelving units. Not pictured: the amazing meals we’ve been blessed with. Our hosts are feeding us quite well!!

Day 3 in Ecuador for our Performing Arts team. Today we were greeted with wonderful hospitality by our new friends at the Nazarene school in Riobamba. We did a variety of projects and music clinics with the students. The first picture includes the volcano Mount Chimborazo behind our group, which rises over 20,000 ft.

After a bus no-show, multiple delays and a nearly missed connection in Miami, we are in the air flying to Quito! We are looking forward to spending nearly a week in Riobamba sharing music and connecting with the community.
