ICON RECAP💙

We spent the past week in Anaheim, CA networking with other students and professionals and learning from some amazing keynote speakers at the 2024 ICON conference.

It was an incredible week and we are leaving feeling so inspired, grateful and motivated to grow our chapter here at UNO!

We want to extend a huge thank you to the faculty that made this trip possible, we will cherish the memories we made in Cali for many years to come💙

Meet Natalie, our Vice President of Publications!⭐

🎓Natalie is a junior this year, she is pursuing a major in journalism and media communications with a concentration in public relations and advertising.

💭“Joining PRSSA was the best choice I could’ve made. Before joining, I felt alone and directionless. Now I have friends and I’ve been a part of amazing professional development opportunities that I believe helped me get my summer internship. Every positive professional thing I have going on is purely because of PRSSA. My favorite memory so far is the PRSSA International Conference. That was my first time even going on a plane and traveling. I learned so much at ICON and I will always be grateful for that opportunity.”

📚In her free time Natalie loves writing short stories and is hoping to write her own book someday. When she isn’t writing she loves to read, her current favorite reads are Otessa Moshfegh’s books.

🎓Brookelyn is a sophomore studying journalism with a concentration in public relations and advertising with a minor in marketing.

💭“PRSSA has opened the door to so many wonderful opportunities for me and I am so excited to see what the future has in store! My favorite memory from my time in PRSSA so far would be my trip with Katrina to the Leadership Assembly in Seattle. It was so fun to explore a new city, have the opportunity to learn and make so many new friends!”

🎶Some of her favorite things are concerts, coffee, traveling and Taylor Swift.

🎓Dakota is a junior this year pursuing a communications studies major and a psychology minor.

💭“I joined PRSSA initially to strengthen my professional connections and learn about the world of PR, but I never realized how many amazing friends I would make during the process!” His favorite memory from PRSSA is attending the Leadership Assembly in Phoenix last year.

☕Dakota loves coffee, sushi and traveling, some of his favorite hobbies include spending time with his bunny and watching scary movies.

🎓Daytin is a senior majoring in journalism and media communications with a focus in emerging media and a minor in theater.

💭“I love the sense of belonging I feel being a part of UNO’s PRSSA chapter. I’ve never felt so close to a group of individuals, nor have I found so many friends in one place like I have while being a part of UNO PRSSA. I’m so glad I joined not only for these reasons but also because it has blown up my resume and truly made me feel more comfortable with the idea of being a graduate.

📸In her free time Daytin loves taking phots and shooting and editing video. She also plays a little electric guitar and enjoys reading autobiographies. “I just love learning about people!”
