Scholarships like the Zuegner Scholarship mean more to students than just the financial boost -- though that's so important.
Ele Geoly, who graduated in 2021 with majors in Computer Science/Digital Development, Journalism and English, explains what the scholarship meant to her:

"The community cultivated by the CSDJ department is special — it fosters a culture of endless support, mentorship, and friendship that exceeds far beyond the college years — and the Zuegner name is at the heart of it. Being honored as a recipient of the Zuegner Scholarship not only provided me with financial support, but it signified how fortunate I was, and still am, to be a member of the CSDJ department. From all the lessons learned and memories made in Hitchcock, to finding a mentor and friend in Carol Zuegner, to discovering my perfect career thanks to the department alumni network, I will forever be grateful for the CSDJ department and for the Zuegner Scholarship."

Save the date for Giving Day 2023!

This year, CSDJ's goal is to continue to raise funds for the Zuegner Scholarship, created in honor of Charles Zuegner and his daughter, journalism professor Dr. Carol Zuegner .

CSDJ is one of the few programs at Creighton that awards scholarships each year.

We want to continue that tradition for years to come!

What a weekend! The Creightonian newspaper sent four students to cover the men's and women's NCAA tournaments in Denver and South Bend!

Please join us tonight for a very special event celebrating Dr. Eileen Wirth’s new book, The Women Who Built Omaha: A Bold and Remarkable History.

When: Thursday, May 19
Time: 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Where: Joslyn Castle, 3902 Davenport St., Omaha, NE

Dr. Eileen Wirth is a Professor Emeritus of Journalism and writes about the history of Omaha women and Creighton connection.

College of Arts and Sciences Dean Bridget Keegan, PhD, will join Wirth for a 5 p.m. program, followed by a book signing.
All book sale proceeds at the event will be donated to College of Arts and Sciences scholarships.
