Ever wondered how someone actually breaks into a late-night writers' room? Ask her yourself.

Amber Ruffin has written for Seth Meyers, hosted her own show on Peacock, and picked up Emmy and WGA nominations along the way. She was the first African American woman to write for a late-night network talk show in the U.S. On September 22, she's at UNO.

Josh Goodsell, Senior Workstation Support Associate in IT Client Services, is the August 2026 KUDOS Award recipient for the entire University of Nebraska System. 🏆 Not the college. Not the campus. The system!!

Anyone who has ever stood in front of a full classroom with a screen that refused to cooperate knows exactly why. Josh and his team of IT geniuses show up, fix it, and somehow make it look easy. 🛠️

CFAM Assistant Dean Abbie Syrek did the honors, and the board says it best. Kudos on your kudos, Josh. 👏

New year. Same standard. 🏆

Two of our undergraduates brought home Gold from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association Pinnacle Awards in August.

🥇 Gage Peterson, first place for his audio story on Nebraska wrestling.
🥇 Jacie Ambrose, first place for her "Spirit of a Maverick" television promotion.

Gold means first place, judged against the best college broadcasters in the state. Heather Hundley, Ph.D., Chad Owsley, Ph.D., and Jodeane Brownlee, M.A. were in the Lincoln to accept the awards. 👏

The plaques are now up on the shelves in ASH. Come look at them.
