Farkas named first-team all-GPAC in golf. Faubel & Freeman were named All-GPAC honorable mention.

College of Saint Mary is thrilled to announce that sophomore Victoria Farkas has been named a first-team All-Great Plains Athletic Conference selection in golf for her play during the 2025-26 season.

Farkas, from Fort Worth, Texas, placed sixth individually in the GPAC National Qualifier, shooting 81-81-79—241 over the 54 holes, earning All-Tournament Team honors. She led the Flames to a third-place finish in the team standings, the best in CSM’s 11-year membership in the GPAC. Farkas becomes the fourth Flame to earn first-team all-GPAC honors in those 11 years.

Additionally, senior Emily Faubel of Milford, Pa., and junior Katie Freeman of Haltom City, Texas, have been named an All-GPAC honorable mention selections. Faubel also earned honorable mention in 2022-23 as a freshman. Faubel and Freeman have been mainstays in the Flames lineup throughout their careers.

The all-conference team for 2025-26 was voted on by the coaches at the conclusion of the season and considers the entire season of results. The top 10 are considered first team, with the next five (including ties) being named second team. An honorable mention list was also created based on minimum votes from the coaches.

Allison Meyerink from Dakota Wesleyan University was named the GPAC Women’s Golf Player of the Year, while Macy Button from Morningside University was selected as the Newcomer of the Year. Nick Wanderscheid from Morningside was named Coach of the Year.

The 2026 GPAC Women’s Golf Championships were held at the Dakota Dunes Country Club on April 27-28.

Tonight’s Flames Choice Awards officially wrapped up our golf season. Congratulations to MVP Victoria Farkas and Breakout Player of the Year Frede Weiss—well deserved honors! Our seniors—Emily, Katie, Anna, and Erika—received their stoles to wear at graduation, a special moment recognizing their accomplishments as student athletes. It was a great night celebrating this team’s success and the incredible season they put together. 💕
