Take a moment to pause and listen to the birds 🐦🌲

In just 8 seconds, you can hear 5 different bird species singing and calling to each other around Pine Lake!

The birds featured in this clip are the Red-winged Blackbird, Pine Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Yellow Warbler, and American Robin.

Fun fact: Birds often sing to claim territory, attract mates, and communicate with other birds, so this short clip is basically a tiny forest conversation. 🌿🎶

Congratulations to these graduates who took their Senior Photos at Pine Lake 🌲

Libby Parody
Major: Criminal Justice and Sociology
Nick Leach
Major: Criminal Justice
Libby’s Message:

“Nick and I moved out to pinelake our sophomore year out of smith to what was probably our best decision ever. Im from the middle of nowhere woods, lake, and nature so it helped with being me being homesick. We made many friends living out there from canoeing, late night fires and spending Thanksgiving together. We picked to take our senior photos here because of the impact it had on us pinelake felt like home, we eneded up living there a total of 3 semesters.”

🚌 The Original Pine Lake Shuttle

Before it was a nature retreat, Pine Lake was a booming resort called Sherman Lake.
This 1910s "White Truck" was the local version of a party bus, shuttling visitors from Oneonta to the lake for Roller skating, dancing, and vaudeville Shows

Fun Fact: This "bus" had no windshield and ran on solid rubber tires making for a very breezy (and bumpy) ride through Davenport! 🌲✨
