We had the BEST time in our homemade ice‑cream class today! 🍦The kids learned that making ice cream takes mixing, shaking, waiting… and a whole lot of patience. 🤣

Ms. Shakira Ward did an amazing job showing the youth the steps in making homemade ice cream. Patience isn’t just for ice cream; it’s a fruit of the Spirit and a part of growing in God.

Galatians 6:9 reminds us:
“Let us not get tired of doing what is right. At the right time we will reap a harvest, if we don’t give up.”

Just like the ice cream didn’t freeze right away, God’s blessings don’t always come instantly. But if we keep doing good, keep trusting Him, and keep a good attitude… the results are worth the wait.🏆

Black weddings were never just about romance.
They were about legacy.

From 1619–1865, Black marriage was illegal in the United States.
Not because love didn’t exist—but because the law refused to recognize it.

So our ancestors created their own traditions:
• Jumping the broom
• Secret ceremonies at night
• Brass rings when gold wasn’t allowed
• Vows spoken without protection, but with purpose

When marriage finally became legal after emancipation, records surged—not because love began… but because it could finally be documented.

Every Black wedding today carries that legacy.
Sacred. Political. Revolutionary.
