We’re super excited to get these first two apprentices out on the streets!

East Alabama Health is proud to launch its first-ever Paramedic Apprenticeship Program, an exciting step toward strengthening emergency medical services (EMS) in our region.

Our inaugural apprentices, Brandon Clayton and Jachelle Morgan, began the program this month. As the first participants, they are laying the groundwork for future cohorts while taking an important step toward becoming licensed paramedics.

Offered in partnership with Southern Union State Community College, this program combines hands-on experience alongside seasoned paramedics with classroom learning, creating an earn-while-you-learn opportunity focused on real-world emergency response, patient care, and clinical decision-making. This program reflects East Alabama Health’s commitment to workforce development, community care, and building a strong future for EMS.
