Last night, we celebrated our outstanding graduates at the 2026 Schmid Awards Night. 🏆

It was a truly special evening filled with pride and joy as we honored our incredible Schmid Peer Advisors, Program Honoree, Special Recognitions and Achievements recipients, and our Outstanding Senior Program Awardees from each major.

A huge congratulations to all of our amazing Schmidsters! We are so proud of our fantastic soon-to-be graduates and can't wait to keep the celebrations going at Commencement this weekend! 🎓✨

We are thrilled to announce that, following a national search, Dr. Christopher Kim has become the new dean of the Schmid College of Science and Technology! 🎉

Throughout his 20 years of service at Chapman University, Dr. Kim has consistently demonstrated his passion and commitment to personalized education, undergraduate research, and curriculum development.

He has mentored more than 100 Chapman students in his Kim Environmental Geochemistry lab, as well as dozens of high school and community college students. Additionally, Dr. Kim introduced the first formalized faculty mentoring program in Schmid College to support early-career faculty and strengthen Schmid's faculty community.

Join us in congratulating Dr. Kim on this well-deserved achievement! We can't wait to see how he'll continue to support our amazing Schmid community!

🎉 Congratulations to our 50+ Schmidsters who presented their incredible research at the 2026 Spring Student Research Symposium! From diving into the neurobiology and ecology of marine invertebrates to exploring the synergy of photochemistry and plasmonic catalysts, our students showcased their work across scientific disciplines.

A massive thank you to the Center for Undergraduate Excellence for organizing such a wonderful event that gives our Chapman students the opportunity to share their hard work. 🔬✨

It's Giving Day! 🐾🔬 Scholarships through the Chapman Fund give Schmid science students like Mirabella, who was at first unsure of her academic path, but has since found a passion for conducting novel drug research, which she has presented at national conferences.
A healthcare innovation internship connected through a Chapman alumnus had her shadowing physicians and exploring AI in healthcare. She now knows she wants to become a pediatric physician, all thanks to donors like you! 🧬
