Last week we partnered with to take an incredible group of students to Moab for the Alternative Break Program. These trips provide an immersive learning experience by traveling to different communities and engaging with pressing social issues.

Our focus this year centered on displacement and resilience from an Indigenous perspective. We spent time in Moab, including visits to Arches National Park and Blue Castle, and traveled south to Monument Valley. Along the way, we visited the Moab Multicultural Center and the Tsé Bii’ Ndzisgaii Community Center, where students learned to make fry bread and Navajo tacos and participated in the Navajo Rock Game.

Grateful for the learning, relationships, and shared experiences that made this trip so meaningful.
