Social Work Day on the Hill brought together social workers, students, educators, and advocates from across Utah to do what social work does bestโ€”show up, speak out, and advocate for change.

From hearing directly from legislators and field leaders to learning how policy is created at the state level, students had the opportunity to see how ideas turn into action.

The day centered on advocacy training, legislative engagement, and community connection, giving students practical tools to influence policy on issues like social justice, mental health, child welfare, and housing security.

Proud of our UVU social work students for showing up for their communities ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

As we kick off a new semester, weโ€™re looking back at an incredible event that closed out the fall semester ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

The United Nations International Mountain Day at UVU sparked a conversation on global climate and sustainability, featuring world-renowned climber and author Lynn Hill, climate policy expert Muktar Djumaliev, and UVU cryosphere scientist Matt Olson.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences continues to create opportunities for students to engage with global issues and accomplished leaders. Weโ€™re proud of the learning and dialogue happening on campus and excited for whatโ€™s ahead this semester.
